COVID-19 Information for Younger Children

Children working at home

We have put together this page as a guide to help parents and children during the difficult period of school closures.

These are some of the things that can be done at home to support children with their learning. All links provided are for sites that are FREE of charge or have FREE trials available.

Reading/Comprehension

This area is key to all learning so we would like the children to read at home on a daily basis just as they would if they were in school.

FirstNews iHub
If your child is in Class 3 or Class 4 they have access to the FirstNews-iHub at home and should aim to work on the comprehension activities this provides.
The link to this is https://ihub.firstnews.co.uk/ and children have their own username and password.

Phonics

Children in Class 1 and Class 2 work on phonics daily. If possible, use the links provided below to support your child with this.

Times Tables

Your child has access to TT Rockstars from home and children should aim to work on improving their speed of recall of times tables on a daily basis.

Twinkl

Twinkl is full of useful education activities for all age ranges. Twinkl have provided free access for parents to help with learning at home. To set this up go to https://www.twinkl.co.uk/offer and enter the offer code: UKTWINKLHELPS

Bolsover School Sports Partnership

The Bolsover SSP Instagram @bolsover_active_schools are uploading daily activities to help children reach the 60 minutes of daily recommended exercise. Check out their other social medias (twitter, facebook) for more active ideas!
